Group Therapy supporting school age kids in managing their well-being while enhancing their' social and emotional awareness.
Practicing Wellness explores, through small group (5-8 children) the power of proactive skills in preventing frustrations and worries in school and beyond.
The goal is to provide tools and support to help school ages children feel more grounded and capable both in and out of the classroom.
Our group introduces an understanding of cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and how to use the techniques in our everyday life.
We discuss the use of tools for success such as utilizing a journal to notice how thinking impacts mood, looking inward instead of blaming the external environment, and finding new and helpful coping skills.
It also encourages practicing mindfulness and meditation and identifying what "lights you up" or brings you joy.
The program emphasizes the importance of managing our interpretations and reactions to situations, asking for help when overwhelmed, and working on learning to use thinking skills.
